An academic science-design collaboration highlighting, communicating, and pointing to possible applications of wearable electronic technology/research developed in the Matsuhisa lab at the University of Tokyo’s Institute of Industrial Science (IIS). Hands 2.0 was developed under the umbrella of the University of Tokyo’s DLX Design Lab and was headed by Prof. Naoji Matsuhisa, Prof. Dov Ganchrow, and Yuri Klebanov. The technologically-infused thumb wrestling use scenario illustrates potential applicability in sports, medical, business, and leisure, among other fields, utilizing wearable circuits, displays, and sensors (custom capacitance sensors; BCC (HBC) body channel (tissue) communication technology; and clear flexible polymer displays and conductors).
Team members included Dr. Liren Wang, Min Jun Lim, Heejae Roh, Tamaki Miyase, Tomer Ofir.
