These toy trucks spotlight some of the technical characteristics at work when 3D printing multicolor objects using FDM (Filament Deposition Modeling) with a single extrude-head printer and leverages them for novel design. First, based on the desired object’s appearance, different color filaments must be cut and fused into a single strand, then during printing process, a byproduct materializes; a purge block comprising of color filament change waste. Print a truck and get its purge block cargo in the process.
